Puppy Fundamentals
Our Puppy Fundamentals Program is a shorter 2-week version of our Day School Program that is specifically tailored for dogs 3 to 6 months old. The focus is on puppy-specific topics and approaching training with a proactive mindset.
Along with age-appropriate obedience, crate training, potty training assistance, and other puppy-specific topics, emphasis is also placed on proper socialization and exposure during a critical developmental period (a commonly misinterpreted topic), and establishing an overall foundation for learning to build upon as the dog matures.
Mon to Thu, your dog “goes to school” (all day) and works with our team of professional trainers. Your dog’s training progress benefits from receiving consistent training, directly from a professional.
At the end of each week you will have an Owner Session to go over the training covered that week to ensure you are up to speed. Your dog will be making demonstrable progress, and you need to keep up! These sessions are not merely to show you what your dog has learned, but more importantly the objective is to teach you how to effectively communicate and partner with your dog so that you can achieve success together.
2-Week Program
For proactive owners seeking to establish a solid foundation to build upon.
-
Proper socialization and exposure during a critical developmental period that helps to shape a fearless, confident adult dog
Establishing a clear language of communication between dog and handler, and the overall aptitude for learning
Age-appropriate basic obedience (Sit, Down, Recall) with some reliability under distraction
Basic leash walking manners that instills good habits of no pulling, but still allows puppy to explore and experience the world
Building a high level of handler engagement
Redirecting puppy nipping
Crate training
Assistance with potty training consistency (if needed) — does NOT replace ongoing work at-home as this is an aspect that takes time, patience, tremendous consistency, and some trial and error is completely normal
-

Monday through Thursday, AM dropoff is between 7 to 9 am, and PM pickup is between 4 to 6:30 pm.
-
It is preferred and beneficial for the weeks to be consecutive to have momentum as a tailwind.
We’re looking to create change and build habits!
-
Prior to your first lesson, relax and let the training team get things off to a strong start.
After your first Owner Session, your homework from that point forward is simply to incorporate the teachings into your regular, everyday life routine.
Think of it like living an overall healthier lifestyle where you integrate better habits into your routines, instead of “I have to go to the gym for an hour.”
-
We encourage all pet-parents to participate together in lessons to maximize our lesson time together. We want all involved to be on the same page, ask questions, learn the skills, and be a part of the journey!
-
Owners play the most critical role to long term outcomes. The weekly Owner Sessions are a critical component of the program to equip you with the skills to provide the guidance and direction to your dog in various situations. This will ensure that your dog also takes guidance and direction from you, and not just the Trainers.
Appointments are offered on weekday evenings and weekends to ensure a variety of options to suit varying schedules, and our appointment system makes it convenient to reschedule if a conflict arises.
Our amazing clients include ER docs and nurses, first responders, teachers, busy families, and professionals who travel for work — with planning and communication, we should be able to find something that works!
-
The days are variable, and your dog’s activity will be tailored based on their specific training goals. With that said, over the course of the program your dog will spend their time:
1-on-1 time working with a trainer: individual obedience, individual play, walks, etc
small group of dogs with a trainer: obedience around other dogs, group walks, etc
socialization: with the environment, with other dogs, etc
crate/rest time: breaks are important for productive learning
-
Absolutely! Your dog will be exposed to a variety of ages, sizes, and temperaments of dogs — just like the real world.
The team goes about this in an intentional manner, and it is absolutely not an unsupervised, “free-for-all” type environment.
Whether your dog is shy, reactive or a puppy that’s just learning — we can only progress in what we practice.
-
Make sure you complete the items outlined in your enrollment email!
Other than that, come as you are, and your dog should “wear” whatever you’d go for a walk with.
-
Tool recommendations are made based on the unique dog/owner/situation, and your trainer will have the appropriate conversations with you, at the relevant points in your training journey.
For your convenience, we carry most of the tools and provide an educational experience along with the sale of the item.
All tools we carry are industry-leading brands or our own brand that is thoughtfully designed and tested. As a small business we cannot guarantee that we will beat a big-box or online price that is subject to algorithm fluctuations, but we are generally price competitive and in most cases in fact the identical price.
-
Many of our puppy clients will plan to build on this foundation by returning for a Day School Program when the dog is older and developmentally ready for higher levels of obedience including off-leash training.
Others will plan to continue the training via additional Private Lessons.

Kind Words
“There are a lot of trainers out there in the area... but no one even comes close to [the entire] SK9 team. They are hands-down the absolute best: they understand dogs and they understand how to help you - the owner - better understand your dog as well.
Moose was a shy puppy and did not want to get close to other dogs or humans. After working with Supreme K9, he really opened up and has gained so much confidence in himself and us!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND their Day School Program (M-Th). We even extended our initial 2-week program because we were seeing such great results…
THANK YOU SO MUCH Supreme K9 Team!
