The Home School Program is one of our original training services!

This specialized program is ultra-limited and is an opportunity for dogs and owners to train exclusively with Otto, and in their general environment.

The program is highly recommended for owners looking to achieve significant progress in a short amount of time, whether those goals are to improve their dog’s lifestyle and overall obedience, or to get a handle on more serious behavioral challenges.

  • Mon to Thu, your dog trains in and around your neighborhood.

  • Additionally, the program offers a high level of convenience for owners in that there is no need for daily dropoff/pickup to the Studio and all lessons are in-home / at your location.

Your dog will be making demonstrable progress, and you need to keep up! The weekly Owner Sessions are not merely to show you what your dog has learned, but more importantly the objective is to teach you how to effectively communicate and partner with your dog so that you can achieve success together.

Please note: this program is not available in all areas, and has set start and end dates. Please inquire for further details.

  • The program has general fundamentals and reliability under distractions is always emphasized. However, every dog’s training is tailored based on their individual starting point / goals / etc.

We strive to fit you with the appropriate length program, and it is important that your inquiry is detailed and specific.

There is a training questionnaire in advance of starting where you’d expand on your specific priorities.

  • Monday through Thursday, your dog will be picked up in the morning and dropped off in the afternoon. Owners do not need to be home, access instructions to be shared in advance.

  • It is preferred and beneficial for the weeks to be consecutive to have momentum as a tailwind.

We’re looking to create change and build habits!

  • Prior to your first lesson, relax and let Otto get things off to a strong start.

After your first Owner Session, your homework from that point forward is simply to incorporate the teachings into your regular, everyday life routine.

Think of it like living an overall healthier lifestyle where you integrate better habits into your routines, instead of “I have to go to the gym for an hour.”

  • We encourage all pet-parents to participate together in lessons to maximize our lesson time together. We want all involved to be on the same page, ask questions, learn the skills, and be a part of the journey!

  • Owners play the most critical role to long term outcomes. The weekly Owner Sessions are a critical component of the program to equip you with the skills to provide the guidance and direction to your dog in various situations. This will ensure that your dog also takes guidance and direction from you, and not just Otto.

Appointments are offered on select weekday evenings and Sundays to ensure a variety of options to suit varying schedules.

  • The days are variable, and your dog’s activity will be tailored based on their specific training goals. With that said, over the course of the program your dog will spend their time:

    • 1-on-1 time: individual obedience, individual play, walks, etc

    • small group of dogs: obedience around other dogs, group walks, etc

    • socialization: with the environment, with other dogs, etc

  • Make sure you complete the items outlined in your enrollment email!

Other than that, an open mind and be excited and ready to learn!

  • Tool recommendations are made based on the unique dog/owner/situation, and Otto will have the appropriate conversations with you, at the relevant points in your training journey.

For your convenience, we carry most of the tools and provide an educational experience along with the sale of the item.

All tools we carry are industry-leading brands or our own brand that is thoughtfully designed and tested. As a small business we cannot guarantee that we will beat a big-box or online price that is subject to algorithm fluctuations, but we are generally price competitive and in most cases in fact the identical price.

Kind Words

“5 stars doesn’t do Otto justice - 50 stars is more fitting! Otto’s training is unmatched and by far the best thing we could have done for our dog, Frankie.

Our pup is very excitable, often jumping on people and pulling on her leash. In a matter of days, Frankie was like a brand new dog! Not only did Otto work extremely well with Frankie, but he was able to teach US how to work with her and implement the necessary steps to ensure her training sticks.

Fast forward four weeks and Frankie is off-leash reliable, no longer pulls on her leash, and is able to contain her excitement - it’s really incredible. I don’t know who’s more sad about her training being over - me or Frankie 😂. In short, if you’re looking for someone to train your dog, just stop looking and contact Otto!”
